A Song of Ascents for Lord's Day Morning

I was glad when they said to me,
"Let us go up to the house of the Lord!"

We are going to the house of prayer,
pour upon us a spirit of grace and supplication.

We are going to the house of praise,
awaken in us every grateful and cheerful emotion.

For the Lord has chosen Zion;
he has desired it for his dwelling place, saying:

"Here will I dwell, for I have desired it;
I will satisfy her poor with bread
."

Let Israel now say:

"Let us go to his dwelling place;
let us worship at his footstool!"

(A harmony from the Psalms and Valley of Vision)
