Repeating a Grade

Another toll that moving takes on your church experience is membership class. Each time we move we wind up in the Inquirers' class again. It's like having to repeat 1st grade. We've repeated 6 times in 10 years. Even though we are building quite the collection of glitzy 3-ring binders, maybe next time we'll try to CLEP out.

Seriously, you ought to try. If you've been a member of a church in the denomination, or even a member of enough churches in the same tradition, they oughta give you a pass on a memebership class. It's a waste of everyone's time and resources. I can understand if there's info they want you to know about the particular congregation, but it's silly that a Reformed church wouldn't be able to trust a transferring Reformed body to have covered the more general stuff.
